"Neuro Hologram" is the interactive installation piece done in 1993,
and exhibited to public at Akademie der Kunste ' Holographic Network '1996 ,
Berlin, Germany.
The hologram viewer's brain wave (EEG Electro-Encephalo-Gram) is
analyzed and processed in real-time on computer, and controls the
multi-lighting system which illuminates the hologram. In other word,
viewer's unconsciousness or change of excitement is interpreted to
the holographic image.
Many brain specialists have been researching to understand this human mystery,
however they haven't had complete answer yet. Although it seems too dare to
challenge it, an artist may find some kind of interrelatedness between
holographic images and brain activity i.e. feeling.
This piece is an artistic "metaphor" of neuro physician Karl Pribram's thesis
"The Brain as Hologram" or the holographic memory model for optical computer
which has a big expectation for the future practical use.
